Yesteryear Collection



During the First World War a complex of sites was developed around Avonmouth docks to supply the British Expeditionary Force fighting in France. There was a remount centre at Shirehampton where horses arriving by sea from the USA and Canada were stabled, a huge motor transport site and factories for manufacturing munitions, including one producing mustard gas.

Description: An olive body and chassis; a light-brown roof over a maroon seat; black tyres on olive green 12 spoke wheels; it has red lining with white lettering; it has a white 'WD' on bonnet and rear doors; '716' in white lettering on left side door, right front mudguard and left of rear tailgate; load of wooden barrels and planks.

Variations: Silver or olive painted headlights.
